Other (describe)
The project includes habitat restoration and improvement, applied estuarine research, and public education. The 8,000 foot long jetty separating Trestle Bay from the Columbia River Estuary could be breached at two locations, forming a rock "island", and opening up Trestle Bay to enhanced circulation and fish use. The actual width for each opening would be determined based on the Bay's hydrology as a part of this project, but is expected to be on the order of 100 feet. Habitat conditions would probably begin to change immediately. Several phot-documentation points around the Bay would be established to help document long-term changes in vegetation cover.
