The Rogue Valley Council of governments and the Medford District Bureau of Land Management are co-sponsoring a salmon migration barrier removal program in the Rogue River Basin. The project will implement alternatives to 84 gravel push-up dams, which are killing tens of thousands of juvenile and adult salmon each year.

Replacement of the barriers would increase annual salmon survival by 10-15 % in perpetuity and add access to 8.400 stream miles of migration and spawning habitat.
