3. Project description (100 words or less)

The La Grande construction dam is located near Eatonsville, WA, about 15 to 20 miles west of Mount Ranier National Forest. The dam was built around the 1940's to block water so that a dam powerhouse could be built downstream. The dam is located about midway between the reservoir and the powerhouse. An underground aqueduct runs for over a mile from the La Grande Dam reservoir to the powerhouse. There isn't much flow over the dam except where there is a release from the La Grande Dam. Tacoma Public Utilities would like at least half of the construction dam removed in order to facilitate fish passage.

4. Goals/Benefits (quantify where possible using measures of success list) Was a cost-benefit study conducted for this project? yes/no If yes, provide a summary of findings.
