2. Problem(s) addressed (e.g. habitat degradation, species of fish (juvenile salmon, etc. (use categories from Lessons Learned Report)

habitat degradation, species of fish (several species of salmon and trout are proposed for listing under Endangered Species Act, this project would benefit chinook, chum and sea-run cutthroat trout as well as several migratory waterfowl.

3. Project Description (100 words or less. Please include qualitative information, e.g. acres of habitat restored, miles of steam reopened to migration, and legislative authorization, e.g. WRDA, ISTEA, CWA/NEP, CZMA, etc.)

This project seeks to restore about 6.2 acres of habitat. Of that 1 acre of estuarine marsh would be created and a stream would be "daylighted" (it currently is routed through an outfall that presents a fish barrier at the outlet).

4. Goals/Benefits (quantify where possible using measures of success list)

Fish passage to about a mile of stream, stream provides spawning, rearing and refuge habitat to coho, steelhead and cutthroat. One acre of estuarine marsh will benefit chinook, chum and cutthroat. Also migratory waterfowl such as common merganser, bufflehead, pintail, and widgeon will get an increase in cover and food supply as result of the project
