The USACE Planning Assistance to States funding is being matched by USDOT funds to EOEA in Massachusetts to examine the tidal hydrology of all Cape Cod Salt Marshes. Those found to be tidally constricted would be restored as the routine transportation corridor maintenance occurs. The USFWS, USEPA and NOAA are all providing technical assistance through a standing interagency committee for early review of the Commonwealth?s annual list of approved transportation improvement projects. As a result of the USACE Section 22 Report on Cape Cod salt marshes, two additional salt marsh restoration projects along local roads have been approved for funding by the affected municipalities.
