Other (describe)
Mill River in Stamford empties into Long Island Sound. The river section is approximately two miles long and includes Mill River Pond, a 3.5-acre impoundment. Degradation is the result of low flows, channel modifications, and excess sedimentation. A fish ladder will be built soon to allow anadromous fish passage. Hopes are to restore the river corridor to a more naturally functioning stream, improving the habit for fish and waterfowl. The Project will require the dredging of 36^3 yards of sediment, adding natural features, restoring the riparian habitat, and constructing a siltation basin to prevent future accumulation of sediments.
