The USEPA's LIS Office has initiated a project to inventory and restore degraded coastal resources in LIS. The Little River salt marsh was identified as a potential restoration site, and the USACE and LISP conducted preliminary restoration studies that are currently being implemented by local authorities using LISP Coves and Embayments funding, USEPA Section 319 and Exxon Valdez settlement funding.
