3. Project description (100 words or less)

The purpose of this project is to reduce a major source of turbidity from Sindall Stream to the Quinnipiac River. The project will excavate silty, organic sediments from the pond, plant a pond side vegetated buffer, and possibly rework the pond outlet to provide some stormwater detention.

4. Goals/Benefits (quantify where possible using measures of success list) Was a cost-benefit study conducted for this project? yes/no If yes, provide a summary of findings.

The goal of this project is to reduce the turbidity in the Sindall Stream and Quinnipiac River. The Quinnipiac River Watershed-Stream Team water quality testing shows that Sindall Stream is a resource worth protecting. It has a high diversity of macroinverts which are stresses from the high turbidity levels. Pollution sensitive taxa are present but in low numbers.
