Other (describe)
There is an opportunity for the restoration of anadromous fish at two nonhydroelectric dams located near the town of Newport. Both sites are located at the main channel of the East Branch Sebasticook River. One dam is located at the outlet of Sebasticook Lake and the other, the Guilford Industries Dam, is located a short distance downstream. The provision of fish passage at these dams, by means of dam improvements or breaching, would benefit the upstream passage of alewives, American shad and Atlantic salmon.
