There are three dams in a row on the Cobboseecontee Steam. The Yorktown Paper Co. in Gardiner owns the lower most dam. The Friends of the Kennebec Salmon, ME DMR, ME Council of the Atlantic Salmon Federation and the owner have requested the removal of this dam as soon as possible. This removal will then be a catalyst for anadromous fish restoration in the rest of the watershed.
