Description of the Issue to be Resolved by the Project
The Tampa Bay Estuary Program has developed a general information website, and is in the process of designing a linked technical website to assist with dissemination of scientific information and data to local scientists and managers as we reevaluate goals and targets for bay restoration. To date, however, TBEP has not provided this more technical information in a summarized format, easily accessible and understandable to interested citizens and media.
The challenge of providing technical information in a timely, interesting and useful format continues to be a major one for all coastal management programs. Many programs, including TBEP, attempt to focus on tracking "indicators" of coastal conditions, which may include measures of environmental conditions, human health, and recreation activities.
