3. Project description (100 words or less)

The major goal of this project would be the development of a web page for timely publication of data describing the condition of Mississippi's beaches. The data presented on the web page would be that collected and compiled through the project entitled Beach Water Quality Monitoring on the Gulf Coast, MS. The web page would be useful to recreationists and local authorities in determining if the coastal waters are posing a threat to public health. The project would support the focus areas of public health, data information and transfer, and communications. Both projects are part of the EMPACT program, and it is anticipated that the web page would be similar to those described by EPA in the Beach Action Plan.
