Connecticut CWRP Announcement near Danbury
Corporate executives with state and federal officials will launch the
Connecticut Corporate Wetlands Restoration Partnership, a new public-private
initiative to restore Connecticut's environmentally valuable wetlands
and other aquatic habitats, at a breakfast on Thursday, June 8, 2000,
at 9:30 AM., at the Ethan Allen Inn, Danbury Connecticut.
Business leaders of the Corporate Wetlands Restoration Partnership in
Connecticut are Duracell of Bethel, a division of The Gillette Company,
and Northeast Utilities, based in Hartford. The Partnership will work
with the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and
the federal office of Coastal America, representing 12 federal departments
and agencies.
The CWRP in Connecticut's goal is to bring aboard more than 20 corporate
partners and $1 million in its first year.
Participants in the event will include:Ann Davin and Monica Roll, Duracell;
Tim Keeney, Northeast Utilities; Ron Rozsa, CT Department of Environmental
Protection; Steve Brayton, The Gillette Company; and Bill Hubbard, Army
Corps of Engineers and NERIT Chair.
