Upper Mississippi/Great Lakes Region

GreatLakesRegion.gifThe Upper Mississippi/Great Lakes Regional Implementation Team strategy focuses on several environmental threats to the region. They focus on addressing issues in industrialized areas and possible contaminated sediments, the reduction of non point source pollution into rivers and lakes from farms and industry, and the control of invasive species in the Great Lakes.

The Team also concentrates on education efforts through their regional CELCs, the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium located in Dubuque, Iowa and the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago. These CELCs convey important messages to the public through exhibits, educational workshops and other outreach efforts.
