SIMOR currently serves as Coastal America's National Team.  SIMOR established a working subcommittee, the Coastal America SIMOR Subgroup, to coordinate with Coastal America's Regional Teams and provide operational guidance to the National Coordinating Office (NCO) .

The Coastal America SIMOR Subgroup-National Implementation Team (NIT) is composed of senior national-level management staff from each of the partnership agencies. NIT members are designated by their Assistant Secretaries and/or Administrators to serve as representatives of their agency to the Coastal America partnership. The NIT is co-chaired by the Director of the Coastal America Coordinating Office and a representative of the White House Council on Environmental Quality. The Subgroup meets monthly to enable the development of interagency operating guidance to the NCO, and early identification of any interagency policy issues and conflicts at the local, regional, and national levels while encouraging timely resolution by senior-level policy makers. The NIT is responsible for reviewing policy issues identified by Regional Implementation Teams, and developing consensus recommendations for presentation to the Principals Group. In addition, the NIT members represent their respective agencies at national meetings; provide advice to the NCO; represent Coastal America in various forums; participate on special work groups as necessary; explore and facilitate coordination of national, inter-regional and other large scale projects; and provide assistance to regional public education and outreach efforts to facilitate public awareness, support and involvement.
